

The action Stages for Sonic are some of the best 3d Sonic has ever been in my opinion, even though there is some camera and control jank in spots. I'd love to see this, even though I have mixed opinions on the Adventure series.

We'd definitely recommend checking out the full interview for some more insights into the game and the series at large. Iizuka also discusses how Sonic Frontiers started and why the team felt the need to move into a more open world setting for the game. But I personally think it'd be nice if we could use what we learn with this game in Sonic Adventure. I haven't thought about my next game yet. I think we've used what we learned with those in this game as well. Sonic Adventure also contains smaller open spaces known as Adventure Fields. I've mentioned this in previous interviews, but I would like to continue the Sonic Adventure series. Not only that, but Iizuka stated that he hopes to use the lessons learned with Sonic Frontiers and apply them to a hypothetical future Sonic Adventure. It's been over 20 years since Sonic Adventure 2 originally released on the Sega Dreamcast. During an interview with IGN for the upcoming Sonic Frontiers, Sega's Creative Officer Takashi Iizuka has expressed his ongoing interest in creating a new Sonic Adventure game.
